IVODGA has designed these courses to meet the needs of the various levels of hazardous material/ dangerous goods employees throughout the transportation industry

A comprehensive three day hazardous material/ dangerous goods training program that provides students with a working knowledge of the regulations in the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code ( IMDG) which govern the transportation of dangerous goods by water both domestically and internationally. Training subjects include packaging, marking, labeling, documenting, handling, container packing, consolidating, shipping, transporting, forwarding or otherwise engaging in commerce, within the scope of the IMDG Code. Such activities include shipments intended solely for transportation by ship and those which involve intermodal transportation, any portion of which is by the water mode. Experienced professionals will find the course to be an excellent resource for preparing their own in-house programs. Hands-on work projects are used throughout the program to enhance the practical application of course material. The course includes a student workbook, a written examination and a certificate of completion for those who successfully complete the course.

Training Instructor:
Instructor worked 45 years for Hapag-Lloyd, 15 years as Director and Vice President. His responsibilities encompassed Dangerous Goods, M& R Claims, Terminal Contracts and Quality, including ISO Certifications.
Hans Trey founded Hapag-Lloyd' s Dangerous Goods Department, the first dangerous goods department of any European steamship line, which rapidly developed into a world-wide acting group of highly specialized experts. During his DG tenure, he was also an official member of the German delegation to the International Maritime Organization in London, developing the IMDG Code into containerization. Hans served as Navigation Officer, Training Officer, Cargo Officer, Chief Officer and became Master at 32 years of age and was employed on all vessel types and trades of the line.
Aside from heading the departments mentioned above, Hans was responsible for developing and introducing the Hazardous Materials Training Program for Hapag-Lloyd Hazmat employees. He regularly trained, together with his Hazmat Team about 400 employees and agents in the US, Canada, South America and the Caribbean Islands. Since working with IVODGA, Capt. Trey continues to bring professional dangerous goods training to the maritime industry in Asia and throughout the world.
